There is no better time to talk about excellence than now. While some have confined the concept of excellence to modern and advanced nations or to some corporate entities and corporations, the church actually ought to be the bastion of excellence. The reason is that our God is an excellent God. Psalm 8:1 says, “O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth”(NKJV). There is nothing that better demonstrates the excellence of God than the beauty of his creation.
As the body of Christ and an institution, there is a cry for excellence—in our administration, worship, demeanour, outlook, vision, and what we offer to a society in a state of consistent decline in virtue and value. When we listen to the cry of our youths and try to address their exodus from some of our mainline denominations, what they are simply, sometimes, craving or demanding from us is excellence.
So, in the 2025 Ministers Conference, we shall be considering the theme “Excellence in Life and Ministry.” The programme will feature Lectures, Bible Studies, Symposium, Health Talk, Revival Services, and other life-enriching events centred around our theme.
The date is Monday 17th–Wednesday 19th February 2025, and the venue is the Baptist College of Theology, Agbowa–Ikosi, Lagos State. We look forward to seeing you!
